Oh what fun……to be a teacher! Not the traditional kind seen in the public school or college system but in a non-traditional classroom filled with eager adult students who want to learn Touch for Health and G.E.M.S.
Having a captive audience is nothing new for me as I was the CEO of a financial services firm. Now instead of teaching about compliance rules, I am having fun and enjoyment teaching a natural and holistic health system called Touch for Health; and for the last 2 days a workshop called G.E.M.S. It stands for Goal Element Mode and Stack. G.E.M.S. was created as an add-on workshop for students wanting more business skills and one-on-one practice with their Touch for Health skills.
I have heart-felt gratitude for the 2 women who participated in my first ever teaching of G.E.M.S. The experience in the workshop space was surreal and the energy was palpable. During Day 1 we focused on learning G.E.M.S. Flow and we took turns giving and receiving a G.E.M.S. energy balance. The students had many aha moments and were grateful for the easy-to-use formula that Alexis Costello created. G.E.M.S. Flow is a systematic and practical approach to an energy balance using all four levels of Touch for Health knowledge. The student words at the end of day one were: enthusiastic, excited, fulfilled, flow, and momentous. I was thrilled with the words for day one of the G.E.M.S. Flow workshop and am happy that my words of the day matched theirs.
I was gifted with a discovery on Day 2 during the G.E.M.S. Business workshop. Until today, I had taken for granted the accumulated knowledge from years of learning and applying different business skills. At the start of the workshop we wrote down all the desired outcomes for the G.E.M.S. Business day and proceeded to use the material provided. I saw and felt my past collide with my present and it was a glorious experience to deliver knowledge they appreciated so much. I pulled knowledge and resources beyond the presentation provided and it felt good to expand and guide the students to their future. Without the students, I may not have discovered the depth or application of my business knowledge or the joy of sharing it. I will be forever grateful. The words expressed at the end of the 2-day were: fulfilling, unifying, propelling, supporting, encouraging, motivating.
The 2-day workshop gave me more confidence for a future as an instructor in Touch for Health, G.E.M.S. Flow and Business presentations. It created a spark to move forward with a modality and coaching program that have been simmering for 30 years.
I feel privileged to share my knowledge with my students and I look forward to teaching again.
Lessons from this experience:
1) Be open to the possibility that you have an undiscovered skill.
2) Be open to being better than you think you are.
3) Understand that sharing your knowledge with others brings joy to the room!
3) When you realize you ARE good at something…..revel in the experience. Soak it in and CELEBRATE!
Thank you for celebrating with me!
Cheers to Your Health!
